Showcase the rich tradition of Ukiyoe - Japanese woodblock art. The long, rich history of Japanese woodblock printing comes alive in the works of the beloved Hirokazu Fukuda (1944-2004) who personally designed, hand-carved, and, with the aid of professionals, hand-printed his pieces. Utilizing traditional methods dating back to the beginning of the 17th century, Mr. Fukuda's hope was always to "touch the heart" of those around him. Over 20 Fukuda prints available. |
Woodblock artist David Stones was born in England and studied at the Lincoln College of Art before settling permanently in Japan in 1972. Stones works in the Japanese woodblock tradition of the Edo Period (1603-1867), hand-carving and hand-painting all of his works without the involvement of machinery. Unique Japan carries over 20 exquisite David Stones pieces; see our web site for details. |
